Conditions remain nice today cold temperatures keeping the few new inches of fresh powder from Thursday soft and smooth. Groomers are silky, but ungroomed areas are variable as the new snow gets pushed around.
By Monday, most of the new powder will have been skied off but there may still be a few pockets waiting to be discovered. In general the groomers are packed powder with a few scratchy areas developing at the top of steep runs in the afternoon (in areas where people stop and slow down). Off trail areas are more variable. Popular runs have developed bumps. A few areas have soft, settled powder, while others (south- and west- facing slopes) have a slight radiation crust making things a bit jarring. Other areas are a mix of tracked powder and crud. Work the mountain to find the snow conditions that work for you.
In the backcountry there is a new face on what was looking quite grim, and new snow on Thursday has improved conditions. It might be worthwile to note that Thursdays storm was accompanied by easterly winds, which has loaded west facing slopes, not normally associated with our typical westerly flow. Coverage is still thin, but mid to high elevations have enough snow for good turns. The new snow from the weekend has settled, but sheltered areas still have great turns. South- and east- facing slopes have a decent sun crust. Snowpack stability is and will continue to be a major concern. Read the Avalanche Advisory from the Utah Avalanche Center before you head out.
